Guinness Premiership Clubs Launch Summer Touch Rugby Leagues
24 April 2007, 2:21 pm
The 12 GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP Clubs today launched Premiership Touch Rugby, touch rugby leagues across the country aimed at encouraging thousands of men and women to get involved in the sport this summer.
Aimed at adults age 18 years and above of all abilities, each Premiership Touch Rugby League will be affiliated with one of the GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP Clubs, with some of the leagues actually taking place at the clubs' facilities. A national final will take place at Twickenham Stadium at the Middlesex 7s on 18th August.

The GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP clubs have joined forces with TouchRugby.com, the UK's number 1 touch provider, to run Premiership Touch Rugby, which will be the biggest touch rugby leagues in the country.

Wayne Morris, Premier Rugby's Community Manager, said "Touch rugby is a non-contact sport for all ages and abilities in a fun, friendly and safe environment. It doesn't matter if you have never played before as the rules are easy to learn plus its a great way to keep fit."

Glenn Whiu, from TouchRugby.com, said "Rugby will be top of mind with the Rugby World Cup approaching this year and touch rugby is a great way to spend a summer evening with your friends. You get to play teams of a similar standard with more competitive leagues available for those that are up for the challenge. And if you are new in town, join as an individual player and get some exercise and as well as meeting some great people. The involvement of the GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP clubs will make the leagues bigger and better than ever before".
