EDF Energy Cup round 3 fixture amendment
8 October 2008, 2:13 pm
By Jonathan McConnell
The date and kick of time of Bristol Rugby's home EDF Energy Cup tie against Saracens has been changed.
Bristol Rugby were originally set to play the fixture on Sunday November 2nd at 3pm.

However, BBC have now decided that they will be televising the Northampton Saints vs Llanelli Scarlets tie live on Saturday November 1st at 2:30pm.

The rules of the competition dictate that final round matches in the same group kick off at the same time so that no side gains an unfair advantage by knowing the result of a game already played.

As a result, the game against Saracens will kick off at 2:30pm on Saturday November 1st.

General Manager Corin Palmer explained:

"We have had to comply with this late fixture amendment at the request of the tournament organisers and would like to apologise for the inconvenience."

"However, it's a rare opportunity to see Saturday afternoon rugby at the Mem, it is part of the season ticket package, and we hope that a good crowd will be there to see us take on Saracens."
